Description

Under the #CSOs4GoodGov project, participating civil society organisations in Trinidad and Tobago; referred to as Catalysts, were given small grants to implement advocacy action projects during the life of #CSOs4GoodGov – 2017 to 2020.

The Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute (TTTI) used its small grant to fund the project, “Integrity Clubs: Planting seeds of purpose, compassion, honesty and integrity in our future leaders”, which saw the establishment of 5 integrity clubs in Trinidad and 1 in Tobago. These clubs were designed to enlist young people as advocates in the fight against corruption.

Activities included workshops with teachers, parents and students and the development of ambassadors. Students received training on interview techniques, strategies for implementing Integrity Clubs, understanding integrity and corruption, public speaking, communication skills as well as an understanding the global picture of corruption and its impact on the nation. TTTI also developed a Teacher’s Handbook and a Code of Conduct for Integrity Ambassadors.
