Description

CAISO sex & gender justice, Trinidad & Tobago (CAISO), is the focus of this #AdvocacyAction post.

Under the #CSOs4GoodGov project, participating civil society organisations in Trinidad and Tobago; referred to as Catalysts, were given small grants to implement advocacy action projects during the life of #CSOs4GoodGov – 2017 to 2020.

CAISO’s small grant project, “Human Rights & State Accountability: CSO Action Learning on Strategy, Collaboration & Impact”, was designed to increase state accountability for human rights in T&T and civil society efficacy at governance activity related to human rights. A 2-day workshop was held in Barataria, Trinidad in October 2018 that saw CSOs receiving training and transfer of knowledge and experience from regional UN human rights institutions and a human rights organisation from Jamaica on (1) supranational human rights mechanisms and (2) CSOs’ role towards the fulfilment of a national human rights institution.
