Description

The Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) has launched an interactive online GIS StoryMap, Caribbean Local Green-Blue Enterprises: A pathway to inclusive, sustainable and resilient economic development (https://arcg.is/1iHPnT1)

This LGEs StoryMap aims to increase awareness of and support for Caribbean local green-blue enterprises (LGEs) generally, and nature-based micro-enterprises in rural communities specifically, by policymakers and organisations providing technical and financial support for business development.

It explains and gives examples of Caribbean LGEs, outlines the challenges that they face, presents CANARI’s approach to building capacity, and gives recommendations for how investment in COVID-19 recovery and other development initiatives can support this niche sector to provide economic opportunities in rural communities.

Learn more about LGEs and and the work CANARI is doing in this area, under the project, "Strengthening financing for Caribbean Local Green-Blue Enterprises".
