Description
This Story Map was developed by the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) as part of technical assistance provided to Caribbean Community (CARICOM) negotiators working on the new global treaty on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national justification (the BBNJ Agreement).
Dialogues with stakeholders explored how this global treaty is relevant to their rights, responsibilities and interests. Hearing stakeholder perspectives and priorities helps our negotiators to be better placed to make a convincing case for improved action to protect ocean biodiversity and benefit Caribbean people. This work received funding support from the Oak Foundation.
