About the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)

The 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda is an ambitious plan of action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. The Agenda identifies 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets that collectively form an integrated set of global aspirations that countries worldwide have committed to achieving by 2030.

The role of Caribbean CSOs in Implementing The SDGs

Caribbean civil society has a critical role to play in implementing the SDGs, including through direct engagement in action and policy development, raising awareness of the SDGs and their specific targets, and advocating for the changes needed to achieve them. Caribbean CSOs have started to collaborate, both with other CSOs and partners from other sectors, to ensure effective achievement of the SDGs by 2030. Examples include:

CSOs For Good Governance: Enhancing civil society’s contribution to governance and development processes in Trinidad and Tobago (CSOs4GoodGov)
